Teacher/Artist Partnership & Creative Clusters

Teacher/Artist Partnership (TAP) is an initiative by the Department of Education and Skills to enhance arts in education in primary schools.

Cork Education Support Centre are proud to support this wonderful initiative.

2019/2020 Projects

The title of this year’s creative cluster project is Garraí Súin or Dream Garden.

The project focuses on specific areas of creative practice. These areas are spoken word, mindfulness and the wellbeing of the school community.

The schools involved in the project are Scoil Íosagáin, Mallow, Gaelscoil an Teaghlaigh Naofa, Ballyphehane and Scoil Aonghusa, Mallow.

Last year, the schools undertook a gardening project which focused on the development of a sensory garden in each school. These gardens became a space where the students and staff of the schools could find solace.

This year, these schools will continue the theme of wellbeing using spoken word, poetry and reflection through their creative projects. They plan to publish a book outlining the details of their projects including poems and stories relating to each garden and recipe ideas using the foods planted there.
