Creating a Whole School Well-Being Policy

Well-being is comprised of many interrelated aspects including being active, responsible, connected, resilient, appreciated, respected and aware (DES & NCCA, 2017).

This webinar will explore topics such as:

  • Rationale for a well-being policy & definitions of well-being
  • Key areas of well-being
  • A whole school approach to well-being
  • Staff well-being
  • Roles & responsibilities of key individuals

The webinar will explore some of the content of the Wellbeing Policy Statement and Framework for Practice 2018 - 2023. An example of the contents of a well-being policy will be shared during the webinar and suggestions will be offered as to how schools might begin to draft their own policy.

The facilitator Brian O'Sullivan is a teacher in a co-education primary school in Co. Wicklow.  Brian has a keen interest in the area of wellbeing and is a memner of his school's "Wellbeing Team".
