Building with LEGO®: Supporting Creative, Social and Language (descriptive) Skills in the Primary Classroom.
This online workshop will explore creativity and how building with bricks can be used to help children to develop social skills and language and descriptive skills either in one to one or classroom settings. This is especially important for children who struggle to verbalise or describe their world (e.g. children with Autism & Asperger's).
Even though this LEGO® based workshop is online it is fully hands-on.
Participants will need to bring a box of LEGO® bricks in assorted shapes and colours to the online workshop and will need a small space beside their computer where they can build along with the workshop facilitator and fellow participants.
Participants will also need to be prepared to have their cameras and microphones on to facilitate sharing and collaboration.
For Primary teachers and SNAs.
Facilitator: Miriam O Donoghue (Bricks with Miriam), is an experienced teacher and a facilitator and trainer of LEGO® Serious Play®, SIX BRICKS and PLAYBOX.
