THIS COURSE IS THE SECOND WEEK OF JULY FROM 7TH TO 11TH INCL.

The FAI Primary Playbook course is aligned with the Wellbeing/Cineáltas National Priorities.

Course Aims:

The course aims to align the modules in Football wellbeing to the Wellbeing Policy Statement and Framework for Practice (2018-2023).

“Wellbeing is present when a person realises their potential, is resilient in dealing with the normal stresses of their life, takes care of their physical wellbeing and has a sense of purpose, connection and belonging to a wider community. It is a fluid way of being and needs nurturing throughout life (WHO, 2001).” 

  • Provide teachers with the knowledge, skills and personal attributes to be able to utilise the medium of football to engage children in physical activity through football.
  • Provide teachers with resources, schemes of work and tools to use the medium of football to bring the world into the classroom and practical activities through the global game.
  • Provide teachers with an understanding of Teaching Games for Understanding approach to connecting football with languages, wellness, fundamental movements, leadership and event management.
  • To align football as a medium for bringing wellbeing the Wellbeing Policy Statement and Framework for Practice (2018-2023) to life in the classroom.

Course Learning Outcomes:

  • At the end of this course the teacher will be able to use the medium of football to bring the world into the classroom through a cross-curriculum approach.
  • By the end of the course the teacher will have experienced the use of Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) as a tool to use football in physical education.
  • By the end of the course the teacher will be able to use football to connect football and languages, wellness, fundamental movement, leadership and event management.
  • By the end of this course the teacher will have experienced and be able to recreate inclusivity through football, using the multiple roles and responsibilities available in the game to ensure everyone can be included.

 All of our Summer courses are booked on the condition that the fee is non-refundable. 

Course fees cannot be transferred to another teacher. 

Unfortunately, if you wish to cancel your place or you are unable to attend the course, we are not in a position to refund fees.

In the event that the minimum number of participants required do not apply then the Centre will be obliged to cancel the course and all monies will be refunded in full.
