Nonspeaking does not equal unintelligent- presuming competence for access
Do you work with a nonspeaker—or have a son or daughter who is nonspeaking? A nonspeaker is someone who is unable to use speech reliably as their primary means of communication. Have you always known they are capable of so much more?
Join Anna Lechleiter from PALZ for an enlightening webinar exploring the neurological processes that affect sensory-motor function and regulation in nonspeaking, minimally speaking, and unreliably speaking individuals. With powerful insights from nonspeakers themselves, Anna will shed light on their lived experiences, the challenges of being underestimated, and how sensory-motor differences impact communication. Discover a transformative approach to interacting with, teaching, and supporting nonspeakers in a way that truly honors their potential."
Anna is an I-ASC Certified and Registered S2C (Spell2Communicate) Practitioner and Play Therapist. As one of Ireland’s – and indeed, Europe’s – pioneering S2C Practitioners, she is trained to teach and coach nonspeaking, minimally and unreliably speaking individuals with motor differences to coordinate their brain and body to carry out the purposeful movement that enables them to spell out their thoughts on letter-boards and keyboards.
