Effective Communication for Better Relationships

“Effective communication is an inner process, rather than an outward performance.  All communication starts with self – I cannot let you know me if I don’t know myself, if I am disconnected from myself.  The emphasis in this eight-week SHEP course is on the development of conscious awareness and on self-expression rather than skills learning.  The facilitator will work with the group to develop a safe, confidential space where participants are encouraged to hold a stance of kind enquiry around their particular reactions to different situations and different people in their everyday lives, and to understand that different people will have different reactions to the same situation.”

Directions to SHEP Project Centre Ardfolyle Crescent, Ballintemple, Cork

Heading out from the Cork City on the Blackrock Road, turn left immediately at the post office in Ballintemple onto Park Avenue and after 100m keep right onto Ardfoyle Crescent. SHEPs Project centre is then 100m further on the left hand side in the old national school building. If coming from Blackrock you can alternatively turn right onto Ardfoyle Avenue at the end of the hill decline as you approach Ballintemple from the Blackrock side. If coming from the N40 take the Mahon/Blackrock exit at Mahon Point, travel approx. 1.5km on the R852 connect road, taking a left turn at the CSO (Central Statistics Office), travel another 1 km and take a right turn onto Church Road at Skehard Pharmacy. Travel another 1.5km until you hit the T-junction with petrol station immediately opposite. Turn left onto Blackrock Road and follow the directions as above for coming from Blackrock.
