Target audience: Junior Cycle History teachers

The webinar will guide History teachers through a Junior Cycle unit of learning. We will recognise how the English pattern of settlement and plantation influenced identity on the island of Ireland. The examples used will be the growth of towns, and the Ulster Plantation. Teaching strategies will be presented. Accompanying resources will be shared. Advice on exam preparation will be given.  

Bio of Facilitator:

Christian O'Connor is a History teacher at St. Mary's Secondary School, Mallow. His is co-author of Chronicles, a textbook pack for Junior Cycle History. He administers a resource website for Junior Cycle History, juniorcyclehistory.ie. He is a regular presenter for the Cork History Teachers' Association, the History Teachers' Association of Ireland, and the education centres.
