
In this session, Claire will explore methodologies to enhance student creativity and confidence in oral language in the Senior Cycle classroom. She will share ideas on how to explicitly teach and assess creative writing, as well as how to measure progress. Claire will also discuss how to build oral competency among Senior Cycle students in a meaningful way.

Bio of Facilitator Claire Cotter is an experienced English and History teacher at Christian Brothers College, Cork, where she also serves as the school's AEN Coordinator. With over fourteen years of teaching experience at both Junior and Senior Cycle, Claire has developed a deep understanding of what students need to succeed in Leaving Cert English.
Claire holds a Master's Degree in International Relations from UCC and is the founder of mscottersclass.com, a popular resource hub where she shares practical teaching notes and strategies with teachers nationwide. She is also co-host of the successful weekly podcast 'What's the History?', demonstrating her passion for making complex subjects accessible and engaging.
Known for her clear, practical approach to teaching, Claire combines classroom expertise with a genuine commitment to helping students build confidence and achieve their full potential in Leaving Cert English.
