An Overview of Generative AI

For Post Primary Teachers

This webinar will provide an overview of generative AI, a brief review of the major generative AI tools and an evaluation of the challenges and opportunities provided by generative AI within an educational setting.

Primarily, the focus will be on how educators can use generative AI tools to enhance their own practices and how to deal with generative AI in relation to student coursework and assessment. 

Bio of Presenter Professor Jim O'Mahony

Professor Jim O'Mahony is co-chair of MTU’s working group on generative artificial intelligence and is also a member of the National Advisory group on Generative AI for the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning.
