The facilitator Denise Dowling is a teacher of the Deaf in Bishopstown Community School which has a deaf facility. Denise's subjects are Home Economics and Science/Biology. She also teaches ISL to all First Year students in her school. Since 2010, she has been teaching ISL to families as part of Early Intervention, teaching the general public via Adult Education and teaching 5th/6th classes in Primary Schools as a Modern Foreign Language. During her career, she has been involved with several interesting projects such as the National Campaign for ISL Recognition (ISL Act 2017), the introduction and creation of the ISL National Anthem in 2018 and was part of the DCU ISL STEM team for Biology. She is currently a member on the Board of Directors of Deaf Enterprises, Cork.
